Better to see you with my dear

June 19, 2014 I went to see Dr. Alanis today he looked me  right in the  eye (he's my optometrist) and said you need cataract surgery.  I had always heard that the cataracts had to get ripe before they could be removed surgically. Dr. assured me I was  ripe  and my vision will prove after the surgery. I have always thought of ripe being the stage just before rotten and I will be glad to get my vision  fixed before it reaches the rotten stage. I hope I can stand the shock of looking into the mirror after my vision improves. Old people have vision failure for a kind and thoughtful purpose. I have a strong heart and I'm willing to take the chance.

Ms Kitty where are you

My new lift chair was delivered this morning and Ms Kitty disappeared. The door was open for a while. She comes when I call her,but I called and called and she didn't come. I drove all over the neighborhood, no Ms Kitty. I looked all over the house and no Ms Kitty. I was closet to tears. I walked into the bedroom and called again, and Mr Kitty came out from under the bed.

It's great to be loved

After church I took my sweet Alzheimer lady to the care home. The sweet ladies care givers insisted that I eat.I tried to explain that I was on a diet. We had a slight langue barrier so I ended up eating a small lunch. In R S a sweet sister handed me a plate of cookies, I gave them to Candace's boys. As I was leaving the church building A man stopped me and said he loved it when I shared my testimony. I usually have a bite of humor to share along with my love for the gospel of Jesus Christ and my Heavenly Father. I just got a phone call and a grandma I love you song from Candace's boy (they have adopted me). I will go to diner at Candace's mothers home. It's no wonder I'm fat, love is fattening!

The diner with the Catholics was nice. I was greeted with hugs and smiles. I am so glad I'm a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Catholic ritual prayers are a mystery to me. Yesterday Candace and I went to the gym and to Costco. I am still on Nutri-system but have been stuck on the same weight for a week. I have lost 18 pounds and will stick with it until I reach my goal weight.

Vanity with out works is dead

I'm on my pretty new computer and I am at it's mercy! I have to settle for what ever it pops up. I can't get out of the program I'm on. My friend Candace helped me yesterday but I am still at a loss to master the simplest things. I keep returning to my old Acer computer, but I think it is about to die. My new computer has a beautiful sky blue cover and key board cover to match. I can't make it work worth bean, but it sure look good.

It's always best to think before you leap

I have been in touch with a woman from my high school graduating class.  We discussed our upcoming  class reunion. It will be 65 year since graduated.  I also received an invitation to the school I taught at for 30 years.  I confused the Pomona Catholic class of 1974 reunion with what I thought was my reunion. I thought having a DJ and dance was NOT a good idea. It's hard to dance and hold on to a cane at the same time. I phoned the number on the invitation to complain about the cost and found my diner was complimentary. Sometimes it pays to read the lines as well as between the lines.

It's got to get better

I am posting this on my new MacBook Air and have no idea that it will post.  It is very different than my old Acer with windows.  I made a new friend at Geek Squad yesterday and plan on seeing a lot of him. He showed me many thing the Mac will do, now if I could only remember half of them! New compute, old brain.  It's like trying to mix oil and water.

The first lines are jumbled.  I don't know why. The monster that lives in this little black box loves to play tricks on me.

Grandpa Charles Orlie Morris was number six in a family of seven children. At the time of his birth the a  Morris Family History by Bonnie Jo Phillips    September 2013  rea was Indian Territory.  His father was Reuben Morris and his Mother Lydia Matilda King.

3. Nellie E., born 22Jun1871 Cherryvale, Montgomery, KS, died 19 Mar 1955

 6. Charles Orlie ,born 2 Jan 1886 Tehlequah, Cherokee, OK ,died Pomona, LA, California
7. Dicie born 1888 Tehlequah, Cherokee, OK, died 1888.
Grandma Maggie Mable Kirk was born in Van Buren, Crawford, Arkansas.  Her mother Josephine Hodge and father Johnson Kirk had two children a son Jessie J. Kirk and Maggie Mable. Jessie died as an infant.  Maggie changed her name to Margaret after becoming an adult.  Johnson died and Josephine married Ed Wilson, her third husband.    Josephine’s first husband was  Edward Crook. She had four children by him and was widowed. He was a horse trader and there was a rumor saying that he was hung for being a horse thief. I have no factual evidence about that.
Charles and Maggie met and married when he was 17 and she was 16. I interviewed Margret when she was about 80.  She told me that he came courting on a big horse and was wearing a pistol on his side.  He had black wavy hair and dark brown eyes.  She thought he was very handsome.  The gun was to shoot wild dogs.
Their first child Danial Clayton was born 20Jan1905.  They were living in the mountains.  Charles went to a dance leaving Maggie alone with a sick baby.  She cried as she told me her baby died in her arms that night.
While living with her mother-in-law Maggie wanted to please her.  While Lydia was gone to town she washed and sun dried the butter churn.  When Lydia poured milk into it to make butter it leaked.  The wood had dried and the seams had opened.  She laughed when she related this story.

My grandfather Charles had a third grade education (as he told to Bettie, his youngest daughter).  He was a very intelligent man.  He taught himself to speak Spanish.   He was a self taught carpenter.  He transformed my parent’s garage in to a three room house for me when I married.  We worked together remodeling it for a few weeks.  He taught me to hang wall board, make kitchen cabinets, a picket fence, and hang wall paper.  He was a born teacher and talked me through all I did.  He had a wonderful sense of humor.  Those days spent with him are a precious memory.  I love him dearly. After the earth quake about 2 week ago my bathroom electrical outlet quit working.  I checked the  breakers, I pushed the reset buttons on the outlet. Nothing fixed it.  Jose, my handyman unplugged my teeth brush and pushed the reset buttons and it WORKED! I hate to feel dumb, but I did. Jose also stopped a leak in the apartment shower. I'm lucky to have this good handyman living next door.
